I'm wearing my traditional clothing in this photograph. I had just finished a fashion show for a multicultural event when this happened. In Ethiopia, we used to drink milk out of the container I am holding right now.

I enjoy cooking a variety of dishes in my spare time. I used to detest cooking, but since the epidemic, I've developed a love for it and find it therapeutic. At the Oromo Community Center, I also serve as a mentor for high school students. Knowing that I can give back to my community and improve someone's life, no matter how little, makes me happy..

How I got started in user research

My journey into user research began with a genuine curiosity about how people interact with technology and the desire to create meaningful experiences. It all started during my undergraduate studies in interactive media design, where I became fascinated by human behavior and the cognitive processes underlying decision-making. As I delved deeper into the field, I realized the profound impact that understanding users could have on designing effective and user-centric solutions. I embarked on a quest to learn more about user research methodologies and techniques, attending workshops, reading books, and collaborating with experienced professionals in the field. This hands-on approach allowed me to gain valuable insights into user needs, motivations, and pain points. The more I immersed myself in the world of user research, the more I recognized its power to inform and guide design decisions. Now, I am passionate about leveraging user research to create products that truly resonate with and delight users, ensuring that their voices are at the forefront of the design process.

What I've been working on

I recently began my project management internship at hashicorp. I am very thrilled about this opportunity since it will offer me a chance to network with the UX designers who work there and learn more about how they operate on a daily basis.

What I'm curious about

As a UX designer student, my curiosity knows no bounds when it comes to understanding the intricate dynamics of human-computer interactions. I am endlessly fascinated by the diverse ways in which individuals engage with technology and how these interactions shape their experiences and behaviors. I am particularly curious about the psychological and emotional aspects of user experiences, exploring the subtle nuances that influence users' perceptions, motivations, and decision-making processes. Additionally, I am keen on unraveling the impact of emerging technologies such as augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and voice interfaces on the future of user experience design. By embracing this curiosity, I strive to uncover novel insights and innovative solutions that enhance usability, delight users, and ultimately create meaningful connections between people and technology.
